Is the 10Cric App Legal in India?
The article is our interpretation of the laws and opinions on the apps. It is not legal advice; we do not owe any duty of care to readers. All readers should seek legal counsel to make legal or business decisions or for general guidance.
The 10Cric app is neither legal nor illegal. While the 10Cric app is not on the list of betting apps banned by the government authorities, the new amendments look to regulate the industry.
As per the amendments to the Information and Technology Act 2000, any game or platform requires self-regulatory bodies (SRBs) approval to operate legally in India.
And to get approval, platforms or games cannot provide wagering on the outcome of any event. This means 10Cric cannot get SRB approval yet.
However, this creates some ambiguities as wagering on the outcome of an event pertains to the game of chance. Plus, the laws fail to clarify whether betting on games of skills like horse racing is illegal.
Furthermore, the amendments do not include any punishment or fines on users or sportsbooks. And neither can the SRBs take any legal action yet.
The only exceptions are states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, where the state governments have passed bills that make online betting a punishable offense.
And since new amendments do not override state laws, even SRB approvals mean online betting will be illegal and punishable in those states.
As for the other states, a legal grey area still exists. But is the 10Cric app safe? Let’s find out.
Is the 10Cric App Safe?
Yes, the 10Cric app is safe as it undertakes steps to protect user privacy and transactions, ensure responsible gambling, prevent money laundering, etc.
As we mentioned in our 10Cric review, they use a 128-bit SSL digital encryption technology and have responsible gambling features like self-exclusion.
They also track withdrawals and may ask you for account verification (KYC) if there’s a red flag, as it helps prevent money laundering.
And to top it all, all games are tested thoroughly to ensure fairness with up-to-date Random Number Generators (RNGs) before being released on the site or app.
However, there are some improvements that we’d like to see. Firstly, have more trusted licenses like that from Malta, the UK, and other European countries.
The Curacao license is rather easy to get as it does not follow stringent checks as the others.
Furthermore, we want them to make it easier for people to self-exclude rather than have to go through customer care for it. Plus, add other responsible gambling features like daily limits.
Well, now that you know about the legal status and safety features of the app, here’s how you can download it.
How to Download the 10Cric Android & iOS Apps
Downloading the 10Cric app is incredibly easy, regardless of your phone’s operating system, as it works on Android and iOS.
1. Access the 10Cric site from your mobile browser.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “10Cric App Information.”
3. It will take you to the app page.
4. You’ll see a big yellow button saying ‘Download App’. Click it, and it will give you the file based on whether you are using an Android or iOS phone.
If you don’t have an account, you can register using the yellow ‘Join Now’ button on the top right-hand corner of the mobile screen.
Enter the details, and confirm your account via the confirmation email.
Similarly, logging into the app is as easy as logging into the 10Cric website.
It is a simple process that should take you no more than a few seconds. If you have forgotten your password, you can easily get a new password by clicking on the ‘Forgot Password?’ option.
The process to deposit and withdraw on 10Cric money is also pretty much the same, with the same payment modes available. Thus you should have no trouble if you have used the website before.
Like the 10Cric site, the app is mainly focused on cricket. But you can also bet on all other sports.
The app is very intuitive and user-friendly (whether you use the sportsbook or the casino), and the homepage looks well-organized and neat.
Not to forget, it is safe and one of the few betting apps not on the ban list.
